NorthStar Taxes started after a few years of doing tax prep somewhere else. That job gave me a solid foundation—one I’m genuinely grateful for. But working there also showed me some of the cracks in the system. I saw people paying high fees not because their returns were complex, but because the business had overhead to cover. I saw room for improvement, and eventually, I realized: I could do this better.

NorthStar is built around one main idea—keep it clean, keep it fair. I use a flat fee structure that gives clients peace of mind: no surprise costs, no “it depends” pricing. Now, I’ll be straight with you: this model isn’t built for everyone. Students or retirees with just one or two slips might find cheaper options elsewhere. And that’s okay. I’m not trying to be the cheapest. I’m trying to be the most fair, the most efficient, and the most respectful of your time.

I run this business solo right now. When you email or call, you get me. I handle every return myself. I treat every single client interaction like it matters—because it does. Every return is a reflection of the reputation I’m building. I don’t do bookkeeping. I’m not an accountant. I don’t upsell services. What I do is tax prep, and I do it well. I don’t take shortcuts. I don’t take client safety lightly. And I don’t ever take your trust for granted.

Long-term, I plan to open a public office and eventually grow—maybe bring on a team, expand locations. But even as that happens, I’m never going to shift away from what matters most: goodwill, transparency, and affordable service that clients can actually trust.
