Why I Started NorthStar​

NorthStar Taxes started after a few years of working in tax preparation and seeing both the good and the bad in the industry.

That experience gave me a strong foundation, but it also showed me where things often go wrong. Too often, people are charged more than they expected, left confused about what is being filed, or made to feel like just another number.

I started NorthStar to build something better. A business with clear pricing, honest communication, and a level of care that people can actually feel.​ That is still the standard behind the business today.

NorthStar was founded by Eric Belec, whose background includes a Bachelor’s in Finance, an Accounting diploma with honours, and successful completion of CFA Level I.
